Views per post (on TikTok: plays per post, on YouTube: views per video or Short) is the typical number of views a creator's content reaches, in other words the reach you can expect from a single post. influData uses the median rather than the average, so one viral hit does not distort the value.
How the value is determined depends on the platform:
- Instagram does not publish view counts for posts. influData therefore estimates the median views per post from the profile's reach, engagement and follower activity. Plays per reel is likewise an estimated median, modeled from the profile's engagement and typical reel reach. Both values are marked as estimates in the app: actual values may differ.
- TikTok and YouTube publish play and view counts, so here the value is the median of the actual published numbers of the creator's videos.
Keep in mind that the real reach of the next post can differ strongly from this value, especially when the platform pushes a post virally. Views per post also drives the reach filter and the views-per-post sorting in the search: see How does the views-per-post filter work? and What does plays per post mean on TikTok?.
