Why do influData numbers differ from other tools?

Differences compared to platform insights or other tools are normal and have three main causes:

  • Different time windows — the native insights of Instagram and TikTok only analyze roughly the last 7–28 days; influData includes the entire period for which data is available, which gives a broader and more stable picture.
  • Different audience basis — influData only includes real and active accounts in its audience calculations, while the platforms count all accounts (including inactive or fake ones).
  • Different algorithms — metrics such as reach or engagement are estimated with influData's own models, which are calibrated differently from the platforms' internal formulas or those of other tools.

Audience insights can also shift noticeably after a profile is refreshed — for example when a creator has lost many fake or mass followers, or gained many followers from a different target group. The note "Report is up to date" in the audience report tells you that you are looking at fresh data.
