Shorts are scored separately from long-form videos: view, like, and engagement scores for Shorts relate interactions to Shorts views.
The separation matters because Shorts follow a different, feed-based distribution logic and typically reach far beyond the subscriber base — mixing them with long-form metrics would distort both.
These are the individual Shorts scores shown in the app. All of them use the creator's last 12 Shorts and are benchmarked against channels with a similar subscriber count:
- Shorts-Likes: median of likes divided by views per Short. A high value means viewers actually like what they see.
- Shorts-Comments: median of comments divided by views per Short. A high value indicates interesting, engaging content and a closer connection between the creator and the subscriber base.
- Shorts-Engagement: median of (likes + comments) divided by views per Short. Shorts with good engagement are more likely to be watched to the end.
- Shorts-Views Total: median of views divided by subscriber count per Short. A low value can point to many inactive subscribers or to Shorts that are rarely shown to non-subscribers.
- Shorts-Views Growth: median view count now compared with the median view count 30 days ago.
- Shorts-Average Duration: median length of the Shorts in seconds, shown for orientation only and not part of the overall score.
