How does the full-text content search work?

The Full Text Search (Content Filter section of the sidebar) searches the actual posts of creators instead of their profiles: captions, hashtags, transcriptions of spoken video content, AI-detected text in images, and location tags. This lets you find creators by what they post about — e.g. "skiing" or "vegan recipes" — even if their bio never mentions it.

Enter comma-separated terms; multi-word terms are matched as phrases and -term excludes content. Behind the scenes, influData first finds all posts matching your terms and then shows the creators behind them, including the matching content pieces in the results. Combine it with the Content Timeframe filter to only consider recent posts, and with the creator filters (country, followers, …) to narrow the resulting creator list.

Besides the Full Text Search filter, influData has a dedicated Content search: switch the search type at the top of the search page from Creators to Content and the results are individual content pieces instead of profiles. It is available for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube (depending on your package; if it is not included, the switch shows a "not included in your plan" tooltip). In the search sidebar you also choose the content types: Post, Story and Reels on Instagram, Videos and Shorts on YouTube (TikTok has no separate type switch).

  • Content filters: Full Text Search (keywords), Mentions, Reach, Date range, Language and Location, plus a Creator Filter (country, gender, followers, growth rate) so that only content from creators that fit your target group is shown.
  • Sorting: by Reach, Viral Content or Most recent, so the posts that reached the biggest audience are easy to spot.
  • Typical uses: enter your brand account as a mention to see what the community posts about your brand, pick the top-reach posts to discover new creators for a campaign, or narrow the date range to check how a keyword or brand mention trends over time.

Not getting the results you expect? Whether you type terms into the Full Text Search or describe content in the smart text bar, describe what is actually visible in the post in plain, general words, the way you would describe the picture to someone else (for example beach, running, woman rather than "athletic lifestyle influencer"). Keep it short: a few clear terms work better than a long, detailed description, because additional terms broaden the match rather than sharpening it. English terms match the detected image content best, because image descriptions are stored in English, while captions and transcriptions are matched in their original language (the smart text bar adds English terms for you when you write in another language). Start broad, look at the matched content pieces in the results, and then narrow down with the creator and content filters (country, followers, content timeframe) instead of stacking more keywords.
