What are the YouTube activity values?

The activity values measure how consistently a channel publishes — the upload frequency for videos and for Shorts — and are combined into an activity score.

An active channel signals an engaged audience and predictable placement opportunities for sponsorships.

In the profile the two values are shown as uploads per week for videos and for Shorts. The underlying activity value for videos is the average time difference between the last 12 videos and the respective next-older upload; the value for Shorts is calculated the same way from the last 12 Shorts. The horizontal bars compare each value with channels of a similar subscriber count.

As a rule of thumb, a good channel should not be inactive or upload too rarely, but also not more than about once or twice a day: the audience will not see every upload, and each individual video or Short then has less impact.
