What do story views and story frequency mean on Instagram profiles?

Views per story are shown as an estimated range, derived from the observed story reach relative to the profile's audience. Instagram does not publish story view counts, so actual views may fall outside this range.

Story frequency describes how many stories a creator posts per day or week — an indicator of how actively the account engages its audience between feed posts.

In detail, the story frequency score is calculated from the average time difference between the last 12 stories of the creator; the horizontal bars in the app compare the value with creators of a similar follower count. Story frequency varies enormously: some creators post no stories at all, others several per hour.

How to read it: creators who rarely post stories usually also have low story views, so the score is a useful activity signal that helps you put the estimated story views into context.
